SYRACUSE – Local firefighters are organizing a fundraiser that could become an annual event to raise money for burn victims.
The event is scheduled for Sept. 27.
Area firefighters and supporters will be walking five miles along Lake Wawasee and along the new path that leads to the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation on SR 13 in Syracuse.

The event is open to all firefighters and those who support the fire departments. We ask that you make a donation of some kind to walk with us, said a statement on an event page on Facebook.
The walk begins at 9 a.m. and will start and finish at the Turkey Creek Fire Territory Station No. 1 in Syracuse.
